On this day at this time, I right to you, saying that Ben-Hadad, king of Syria, has attacked our capital city Samaria. He sent a messenger telling me that all my gold and silver is his now, but I told him that I could not and would not meet his demands. We sent letters to each other, saying threats and taunts, just to prove our courage and pride compared to one another. A prophet told me that I would win this battle over Ben-Hadad, so that I can know the LORD. What lord must I know, though? And who will strike first? The prophet told me I would take the first attack at him, and I did what I was told. I forced them to retreat, and I won this battle, but what will happen now?
